Knead it by hand or use a knife or spatula.

Sounds like it must be a bread recipe. You can always mix or knead the dough by hand if it's truly that stiff. Do you have any kind of stand mixer? The little hand-held ones won't work, but I've used a counter style mixer with regular beaters on pretty stiff mixes.

Your only alternative is the old fashioned way. Flour your table top after cleaning well with bleach and drying completely, flour surface well. Turn dough out onto the floured table and begin kneading with your hands using the palm of your hands to press the dough forward. Fold and push using small amounts of flour to keep the dough from sticking to your hands for about 8/10 minutes. The dough should be smooth and satiny to the touch. Let rest for 5 minutes then follow the rest of the receipt. The dough hooks on a mixer are a modern convenience that replaced the old fashioned way to make breads or pastries. They also seem to make the dough finer in texture after baking. Good luck.

come across a clean recipe that calls for you to combine with the aid of hand by using fact if it demands a dough hook than you have put in a lot extra attempt without one. it rather is taking in account the certainty that a mixer can choose for longer sessions of time and swifter than a hand.

If you have a food processor, it may come with a dough hook, otherwise you will probably need to knead the dough by hand. Kind of like pulling and pushing massaging motion.

I would find a different recipe for the same thing that you are trying to make--ask for the same recipe that can be done manually without a mixer
