Three points of contention with this question:
1) edit: where ARE all the Jesus Freaks at?
2) the term, Jesus Freaks, is not PC (politically correct)
3) Despite the fact that you do not believe in Jesus or prayer, for that matter, it does not give you any right to label those who believe otherwise, or anyone, a freak.

Reasoning for prayer:
People do try to understand the world that we all live in-- prayer is just a way to have supplementary confirmation that they are doing everything possible to try to help the world be a better place. It's a way to feel like you have some semblance of control over the uncontrollable variables in life-- it gives people meaning, faith, and hope.

I understand your viewpoint, in that sometimes people rely too heavily on prayer instead of what they, themselves, can realistically accomplish without divine intervention, but I also believe that there is a great aspect to prayer... it not only draws the line between what is moral and immoral (speaking about religion in general), but also gives people affirmation that death is not something to fear. It lets people live on.

That's just my belief. I'm not devoutly religious, or even Catholic or Christian or some other sect of that religion (personally am agnostic), but I think that's what prayer is for.

Hope this helps.

You say Pray that you will understand the world we live in. Well that is what prayer is all about. We pray for the world. The children in the world. We pray for Peace, and if we all pray to fix the problems, our prayers will be answered. It says , Ask and Ye shall recieve. When I pray my prayers, I pray for all of the above. There should be no problems with prayer if you sincerely pray. To fix the problems with prayer, I don't get what your trying to say !!!! If you pray sincerely, your prayer should not be considered a problem. Your prayers are nill, if you are not sincere and truely believe in the power of prayer. To become a part of society, means you need to be kind, and loving. Stay away from the negative things in the world and if there are lots of negative things in your life, use the power of prayer to ask for help and guidance. When you pray, it will fix you. It helps, if you are sincere. Yes, you can fix problems with prayer. Take your Bible and read it. you will find many good explanations of prayer.

Prayer is the answer to the problems of the world and society and the amazing thing is it all can be fixed. I pray that you are doing your part instead of dishing it out for others to.

I am a firm believer that if there was more prayer in this world and if more people would follow the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ the world would not be in the state that it is in. There is just too much hate in this world, Jesus taught love. Love is the Word and Love is good. Believe my friend and take that step in changing the world.

~In the White House, Congress, state legislatures and governor's mansions or hiding in the wings and pulling the strings. The really sincere ones are in asylums and sanitariums.

With a little luck and the help and blessings of Gooblaskeera, maybe they will all go to heaven. SOON.
