I've been checking out the Veda's the bhagavad gita, the upanishad, the koran, nueroscience, physics, anatomy, chemistry, biology, acoustics, astronomy, computer programming, self-help books, hemi-sync, modern technology, various musicians, several poets, numerous novelists...and actually understand alot more about my spirituality than the bible could do alone. Of course I read it, but it is a sin not to explore further.
It would be like saying the rest of the world is foolish for having different beliefs. People know what personal testimonies of love, truth, and surrendering to a higher power is.
This is not a serving 2 different master's opinion.
Can you answer the top question and be able to justify it with proof? jesus and god want you to learn about this magnificent and wonderful world.
They want you to see this place as heaven already.
Would you know heaven if you even saw it. or was inhabiting it.
jesus saw this as heaven, why won't you

It depends on which path you wish to take. I'd be wrong to tell you I'm a christian, but also wrong to tell you that I wasn't one before. In my experience, there are two paths you can take. One, inheritance and biblethumping. These poor people know nothing outside christianity except for what they see on TV. They often make other religions and their practitioners, such as I, resent the religion, only because so many of the people following it are of that variety.
The second, being my obvious preference, would be the more spiritual path. Learn about other religions, other places, people, belief systems, everything your little grubby hands can lay hold to. Not saying your hands are grubby. Metaphor. At any rate, learn, and then decide. Is this god right? If he's right, then I should serve him to the best of my abilities. And NEVER fear hell, no matter what I do. Is he wrong? If he's wrong, I should serve one of his various relatives, because from my research there seems to be a certain bond between every religion. And that's the morals. Some gods make minor alterations, but for the most part, they're the same tht everyone should follow. If I choose to follow one of God's relatives, such as possibly Siddharta gautama, or maybe even Inari, or Amaterasu, then he won't hate me. I'll live as well as I can under them as well, and either way, things will turn out fine.

The most important step, of course, would be the end. Know that only YOU can decide where you go. Doors will open and close depending on what you do, of course, but only YOU have the choice of outcome.

Abraham looked not to life on earth but to a future in Heaven. By his faith he was justified and considered a friend of GOD.

The Bible is the most important book for a Christian and, if they will accept it, a nonbeliever as well. If you introduce other beliefs then there may be confusion but that is your choice.

You need to choose though, whether you believe what the Bible says or if you will believe the Koran or the other texts of other religions.

Jesus did not see earth as heaven, He came from Heaven and knew what it was like.

There is no such sin as "the sin to not explore further"; that is your human justification of your decision to search everything and perhaps believe nothing?

Is the Bible important to spiritually evolve? What does spiritually evolve mean? Are you speaking of evolution, that which, to my mind, is incompatible with Christianity and practically all worldviews that acknowledge GOD or a god? The Bible is important indeed, whether you accept it or not, more important than any other religious text in the world.

Dear Coreyusaf: I am going to mention a book from my studies and want everyone to know I am not mentioning it because it is the ONLY or RIGHT path for everyone. I am in full agreement with Coreyusaf. Thank you Corey - you have said a great deal.

First, my Journey began reading these topics: Ancient Man and Ancient History. Religions of the World, Philosophy, The Life of Christ and His Times, the Talmud, The Gnostic Gospels, the Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire, New Testament and the Old Testament. I spent five years in those studies. Later, articles on Quantum Physics, the Cavalier Poets and other Spiritualist writers like Susan Howatch and Jan Karan.

The book I ended up with was "A Course in Miracles." I have studied the "Course" for 21 years. I wish to add that Jesus saw this world as being able to become like heaven when He has taught you how to perceive and think in a manner that creates heaven on earth.

All religious scriptures can play an important role in one's spiritual development. Your first priority should be to discover the Truth. On this path of discovery, it is only prudent to read as much as possible from every tradition. Yes, you will come across things which don't suit you or which are not to your liking. But that, too, is part of spiritual growth. Knowing what you don't believe is a vital part of discovering what you do believe.

No, the bible hinders spiritual evolution. Jesus is not divine. The bible is fiction... to follow it is to accept ignorance as a way of life.
