Treadmill or other areobic machine.

However, being stuck indoors is going to make any exercise routine boring after a short while. Exercise should be fun. If you're into dance, you might enjoy some classes at the local gym -- dance, aerobics, yoga, even kick boxing might be fun. If you like some alone time, try long walks outside mixed with some jogging. I'm a big fan of walking and running because its easy for anybody, requires very little equipment, and has obvious health benefits.

Whether your exercise routine is indoors or out, think about augmenting it by walking where and when you can rather than short drives. Look for the stairs and stay off elevators and escalators. While waiting for things, take a quick walk to see what's around.

At the age of 19 in tipped the scales to nearly 320 pounds. I didn't like the way I looked or felt. I didn't feel right going to a gym where all of the "Fit" people where.
I looked around and found Roller Skating. Not the in-line on the street kind but the old four wheel kind in a rink.
I lost over 150 pounds, felt better and looked better. Rink skating is fun and cheap. You make new friends, get to listen to music and ,if you get into it good enough, it is like dancing.

Well you're doing ok, I have basement people too but they complain when I jump rope. But what you are doing isn't really enough to 'lose much weight' - you need to think more outdoor things: either go to a gym and swin/run on the treadmill - or go out in the morning or evenings for a jog/run.

I'm not sure where you live but call around, there are play places for kids called JumpingPartie.com Parents are allowed to jump and climb slides and mazes just as well as the kids. It's very cheap only $5.00 per child to jump all day and parents are FREE! It's great exercise and you get time with the kids too.

Sweeping and mopping the floor are good exercises. So are making the bed, dusting everything including high places. Painting, even the scraping and cleaning before, are good exercies.

Why does it have to be indoors? This may be part of your problem. My favourite workout is paddling a canoe or kayak, or chopping wood.

what you are already doing is good, but you also have to stretch a lot (if you're not already). stretching helps your muscles become more flexible and will make the exercising more effective. in addition, a quiet way to get in shape is belly dancing. buy a cheap instructional tape or go to a gym and enroll in a class. it's indoors, quiet, and it fits you because you love to dance.

how is dancing disturbing the basement people, but jumping rope is not? try jogging in place. maybe get a callinetics(sp?) video and do those excersizes. leg lifts, crunches, pull ups, STRETCHING can do wonders for your body.

Do abdominal exercises. They are good for you. Loses some unwanted fat around tummy and doesnt make much noise. Just put on some music and work with it. Here is some of them

Buy one of those Gazelles. My mom has one, and I started using it and I've lost like 15 lbs. I only do it about 20 minutes five times a week.
