I would like to know the different treatments that are safe and effective and work especially with the scarring. Also, I have acne over my face that will not stop even with the birthcontrol pills that I started before getting married 7 months ago. I really would like to get an honest opinion on what to do. I do not want to have blemishes and scars on my face.

Hello, I am an esthestician and have struggled with acne all my life. Cyctic acne is the hardest kind to treat but there are a few things you can do. try to do as manyof these suggestions, as every little bit helps. Drink lots of water! (I used to have bad acne and it was amazing what a difference this made.) Take cheltaed zinc tablets. Invest in a decent skin care product line such as ProAcvtive or Aveda's Outer Peace. The key here is gentle, non-abrashive exfoliation. If you use any kind of grainual scrub...stop! The granuals actually cause small mirco-tears in the skin and bacteria move right in. Buy a dozen soft wash cloths (for babies) and use a new one every other day, or every three days if you have AC in your house. Longer than that grows bacteria on the cloths. (Same with deep-plie washcloths.) Wash every morning and every night no matter how tired you are. Use 100% cotton pillowcases and wash your pillowcases in a frangrance-free soap and do not use dryer sheets. Change cases every six days (three nights on each side.) If you can afford it, get a facial every 6 weeks or so, but do not let them squeeze anything...trust me. And last, try not to stress out. Cyctic acne is often caused by stress and hormones, as well as the things mentioned above.

Cystic acne and age 27..... there could be a hormonal problem called polycystic ovarian disease causing the acne.
I think see a dermatologist and let the doctor decide. Meet the doc asap as cystic acne can leave behind scars. In the meanwhile use Proactive.

Sorry, spots on your face, either by acne or otherwise, will not disappear within a few days, nor a few weeks. But depending on your age, and race your skin might respond to an oldy but goody called TEN-O-SIX. It's hard to find, but look in Walgreens, or Rite Aid stores. Apply with cotton ball after washing face. If your skin tends to be oily, take it with you to use during the day, after sweating or Another remedy is Porcelana, or Esoterica. Both come in different strengths, so look for the one for the face, and AVOID THE EYE AREA. Do a skin test first, like a little spot on your chin after your wash your face, and see if you have a reaction. Esoterica is stronger, but effective. Porcelana is milder, and effective also, but the results will be slower. Wash your face every night with a simple mild soap like Ivory, don't scrub with wash cloth, massage with fingertips, and wipe off with a clean wash cloth. Then (if skin test is successful) apply a thin layer on face before going to bed. DO NOT USE FOR A FEW DAYS IF YOU PLAN ON SPENDING A LONG TIME OUT IN THE SUN. DO NOT USE ON SUN BURNS. MIX ALOE VERA GEL AND/OR VITAMIN E, OR COCOA BUTTER OR SHEA BUTTER WITH VITAMIN E. Great for healing the skin, and soothing. This is my remedy, after years of suffering with acne and spots after the acne dried up.

I think it's best to ask a dermatologist.
But Try proactiv, it works.
I used to have a lot of acne, tried many treatments, like.. antibiotics, acutane, different types of cream, face wash, never worked on me. so I used proactiv before my wedding, because I didn't want to have spots all over my face, I used proactiv, and on my wedding day my acnes were all gone, and have a healthy glow on my face.

or you can substitute with aveeno. aveeno's also good.

Acne occurs for many reason.....one is makeup if you put it on everyday well stop.DO NOT PUT MAKEUP ON AT ALL IF U HAVE OILY SKIN NO POWDERS BLUSH OR FOUNDATIONS Also ACNE CAN BE CLEARED UP ENTERNALLY BY YOUR DIET OR BETTERING YOUR DIET. PEOPLE WHO HAVE A VITAMIN DEFICIENTCY IN A OR ZINC IS WHAT CAN CAUSE ACNE> DRINKS LOTS OF WATER NO MORE SODA"S REFINED SUGAR AND PURE JUNK.CHANGE TO FRESH FRUITS AND VEGETABLES!THATS WHAT CLEARED UP MY SKIN PLUS I STOP DRINKING LOTS OF SODAS ESPECIALLY CAFFINE ALSO REMEMBER THAT TOOO MUCH SUGAR WILL MAKE YOU BRAKE OUT LIKE MY DOC SAID....AND I WEAR MAKEUP ONCE IN A GREAT WHILE AND BEFORE YOU PUT IT ON WASH YOUR FACE. IF YOU HAVE OILY SKIN WASH WITH MILD CLEANSERS.DO NOT USE TONERS OR LOTIONS WHICH COULD MAKE IT WORSE AND TO PREVENT MARKS ASK YOUR DOC FOR RETIN A OR DIFFERIN >>DOES WONDERS ON THE SKIN AND RETIN A FADES AWAY STRETCH MARKS ITS AMAZING HOW I HAD CYSTIC ACNE AND MY SKIN IS AMAZING THEN BEFORE I HAD ACNE!

Your best bet, since we are talking about YOUR FACE ! Is to go to a professional dermatologist !
Are you on any medication that states you are not supposed to be in direct sunlight by any chance?
My gyn doctor put me on tetracycline to clear up mine when it was found the dosage of hormone injection I was being given was a little bit too high, and caused me to have some cystic acne.

Wish you luck sweetie!

to take care of your current break outs and future ones, try proactiv. it honestly works. as far as getting rid of scars you will probably have to see a dermatologist or skin treatment specialists.

See a dermatologist. In my experience cyctic acne doesn't respond well to any OTC treatment.

well pro-active works..... but like ok when you clean your face DONT expose yourself to really hot water on your face just warm when you wash your face. and when your done splash your face with a lil cold water for a couple of seconds. the warm water opens up pores and cold water closes them up so limited dirt can get stuck in the pores. also drink PLENTY of water. and limit yourself to sun exposure. just a few tips but i dont know any medications.
