so dark brown it almost looks black. However, in the sun you can tell it's brown. It's got a nice shimmer but I have been dying to add some purple plum highlights to my hair. I have shoulder lenght hair and I was thinking something along the lines of Cristina Aguilera when she had those red highlights underneath hair blonde hair. Of course, I ain't no Xtina but does anyone think it will look ok? Please help! I would appreciate any advice especially if your in the hair salon industry.

Why not go to a hair salon for a consultation, they are generally free and you will come out with knowledge on how best to go and the procedures it would take to get you exactly what you want along with the cost.

You can do comparative shopping by going to different salons, taking their care and indicating the cost behind and then go home and make a decision based on what you heard, cost and what you feel is best for you.

The fact is anyone here could tell you what they feel will look good however the reality is you have to live with it. So your opinion is what really matters.

I went to baeuty college and got voted hair color queen so I no what looks nice. IF you do that to ur hair u should make all of ur hair jetblack exept the plum high lights, that would look good. If u just leave the brown in there its going to conflict and look funcky.

don't try and copy anyone else. Be innovative and do whatever comes to YOUR mind but do get inspiration from elsewhere. However, when christina had those red highlights she did look pretty amazing so I'd say go for it.

you probably look prettier with your natural color. but if you want a change, i'd suggest some caramel hight lights. the red would be too drastic.
