Diving for quarters

See who can swim the farthest under water or who can hold their breathe the longest (make sure somebody knows CPR first)

Play ducks-somebody stands outside the pool and throws bread or other treats in the water. The people in the water swim to the bread and have to eat it without using their hands. (Watch out for heads bumping together)

Water wrestling-try to pin the other person under water until they make 2 fists or some other signal to signal they give up. (Only play this with level headed teenagers or injuries may occur and tempers may flare. For girls, one pieces stay on better).

King of the raft- Get on of those blow up rafts and everybody tries to get on it and stay on it. The others try to knock him/her off.

volleyball, marco polo, chicken fights, diving games (throw item to bottom of pool while others aren't looking and see who can retrieve it fastest),

Whirlpool

This is more of a laugh than a game. In a swimming pool, everyone holds hands in a circle and spreads out. Now everyone starts moving round in a clockwise direction, still holding hands. Walk faster and faster - the current will help the faster you go. Finally count to three and everyone lets go - you will spin outward.

You can switch directions until your legs get too tired!

Catch The Flies

This game can be played in the pool or on land.

The object of the game is for the "spider" (the person who is "it") to try and tag all of the passing "flies" (everyone who has not yet been caught). When the spider catches the flies they become part of the web. The flies that are still buzzing around must try to avoid the web as well as the spider.

Set up an area with boundaries (if the boundaries are crossed then the fly who crossed them automatically becomes part of the web). The flies line up at one end and the spider stands in the middle and cries out, "I am the spider, of this web I am king. Try to get past me and feel my sting."

The flies try to swim/run across the web as the spider tries to tag them. If tagged, they become part of the web. Keeping one foot planted, everyone who is part of the web tries to reach out and tag the flies running by, turning those players into the web as well. Once the flies reach the other side, the spider and flies say the chant and everything is repeated all over again.

The game ends when all of the flies become part of the web. The last fly tagged becomes the new spider.

I played this a few weeks ago and I nearly drowned from laughing so hard. Try playing Tug'o'war in the water. Just get a long rope, tie 2 hoops at either end (to hook over the person at the end) and pick your teams. Have fun.

Grease up a watermelon and throw it in. Whoever can get the melon out of the pool gets a prize.

yes, you each start out with 3 balls, doesn't matter which ones. Then you stand at opposite ends of the table and try and slide the balls into the corner pockets. The first person to get 4 balls in the corner pockets wins. It can also be a 3-3 draw. It's a game of guts because in order to win you have to be willing to get your fingers smashed between balls or get hit in the face with them sometimes.
