i live in Modesto, CA were pretty much surrounded by almond orchards and in the spring the blossoms are gorgeous. My boyfriend and I were talking about getting married in one of them with the flowers in bloom. Question is, how would we go about that? do we talk to the farmer/owner directly? the city?

If it is a privately owned piece of land then you need to talk to the owner/farmer. If it is a public piece of land then you will need to see someone with the city or county.

One farm wedding took place under a tree. The aisle was lined with candles in mason jars on shepard's hooks. There were streamers tied to the hooks & they also were tied to the low branches of the tree.

Pretty cool.

You might have to do some hunting to find out who owns the property. There should be a little house nearby, even in the orchard. He might be farmer, but he might be just the caretaker. But he'd be able to tell you who owns the property.

What a beautiful idea...hope it works out for you. Contact the owner of the orchard, or the company that manages it.

Ask different people in the wedding business in your locale how often it is done, who does it and how much they normally charge. I bet your caterer, the priest, the dj and florist could all give you tips. You could also ask your chamber of commerce, the almond growers association and put up a post in your local craigslist.

Ask the farmer. If it's a large place, odds are they've been asked before.
