Please trust me.....Mustangs and Camaros are terrible in the snow, and even if your friend hasn't had any problems yet, it is much harder to keep a rear wheel drive car on the road in the snow and ice.

The Eclipse and the Celica are both good, sporty Front wheel drive cars. I recommend the Celica more and I definitely wouldn't get an eclipse prior to the '01 or with over 50,000 miles on it.

Make sure you get insurance quotes on the cars you are interested in before you purchase them. Not sure how old you are, but these types of cars tend to be much higher to insure.

Maria, if your worried about diving in the snow your best bet would be to get a Subaru impreza wrx sedan, it's the most sporty, fast all-wheel drive cars out there. I own a 2001 mustang and unfortunately had to drive it a little bit last winter and it sucked. Your lucky if you can get any were with even an inch or two of snow.

I have had front wheel drive cars that didn't do well at all in the snow. I sometimes think maybe rear wheel drive is just as good. Even better with a full tank of gas. Mustang Camaro are good cars. Buy one.

Hey Maria,

my humble advice to you is to concentrate on Japanese manufacturers (Honda and Toyota). They are more reliable and will assist you with better re-sale later. Get the best you can afford with as much specifications as possible. You can get some sporty Civics without the need to buy a small coupe. I also would advise you to buy a front wheel drive car as they are more user friendly especially in the wet/snow etc.

Visit www.kbb.com for used car prices before you buy. When you find the car you like DO NOT RUSH IN to buy it...take your time. Check the vehicle history with www.carfax.com. IF the report is clean (you have to pay about $20.00 for the report) then Carfax will guaranty their report. So if for some reason the car turns out to be a wreck Carfax will reimburse you the cost of your car (or something like that..it says on their site I believe).

Also take the car to an independant garage (try to use the origional manufacturers shop as they are held to a account by the manufacturer) before you buy it for a Used Vehicle Inspection. It'll cost about $30.00 - $50.00 for a full mechanical report.

And best of luck, I hope you get a great car!
