This question is hard to answer without knowing a few facts like;
1. Would this baby have much hair?
2. How long would their hair be?
3. Is this baby a Boy or a Girl?
4 Last but most important would you be using baby safe products on their hair?
After knowing the answer to all of the above question, then someone could honestly answer your question.

The only thing u can use in a babies or a young child is a gel product with no harmfull products in my daughter's Hair who is 2 yrs old the only thing in her hair that i use to style it with hair bands is A Non Tangle spray which is also and conditioner and acts like a gel she has very thick wavy hair and her hair is a nightmare so that stuff really does work :D

You can cut it in a style (use a hair dresser please :P) but hair products are not a good idea as bubs have sensitive skin and they may cause itching or skin rash. Also babies might open there eyes when you are trying to spray them with hair spay and that would be no good for the poor little things.

Only by brushing it in different directions or by adding rubberbands and ribbons. Off the face, into a mohawk, Gerber baby style, et cetera. Or fluff it all up. There are tons of cute babies on flikr.

Well, I'd look to the mother's father to see if the child is going to bald in the neatrfuture. If so, keep the head shaved so the kid will get used to it and not suffer as much when he discovers that he's going to have male pattern baldness.

Why u ask then? Not really babe, you cant use anything hot like straightners or anything - too dangerous for baby skin. Is it really a mess? Try a bun.
