Due to health concerns, Europe has banned the import of American beef raised using hormones, steroids and antibiotics. In our opinion there are NO "safe" hormone, steroid or antibiotic residues for our families to consume in beef. Here is an interesting loophole used by many large producers . . . cattle in feedlots will almost assuredly need prophylactic antibiotics. Their unnatural diet of grain and by-products require antibiotics to keep them from crashing. Do NOT allow your beef supplier to play word games . . . your beef supplier should NOT allow therapeutic or prophylactic antibiotics.

This country has a culture of excess. We have to do everything bigger and better than everyone else. Our cars, our homes....and our serving sizes.Do we really need to "super-size" an already unhealthy meal?
Try reading the ingredient labels of everything in your house.I'll bet most of them contain a boat-load of sugar, and also an ingredient called "high fructose corn syrup".Other countries don't have quite the variety of proccessed foods that we do.
Also....most of the hard labor jobs (an excellent source of exercise) in this country have been done away with.Kind of hard to burn calories just sitting in your cubicle.
Let's aso consider that most people are just plain lazy these days.Does anyone walk to the store anymore if it's more than a block away?....And when they do get there they drive around for several minutes looking for a parking spot close to the entrance so they don't have walk alllllllllll the way across the parking lot.

I sorta agree with you. I'm chinese and I have family in China. I am the healthist (work out, eat right) out of all the women in my family but I'm also the largest. I am the only one who has lived my entire life in the USA.
Another odd thing is. I went to China to years ago. I was there for 2 months. I was a full blown couch potato and I came back 15 pounds lighter.
I think there's something in our food.

That could be a factor, along with more meals being eaten out, portions being supersized, and not just at fast food places, more processed foods, less exercise, and overconsumption of soda.

I found a lot of answers in the documentary, "Super Size Me". It is not just McDonald's bashing. It actually explains obesity in America.

We eat more calories than we burn. It is that simple. We do not eat until we are satisfied, we eat until we are stuffed. Then we do not work out. The more muscle mass you have the more calories you burn. So if more people would work out they would not have this problem.
