A person who kills a pregnant woman, and also her unborn baby can be charged on two counts, but if that woman decides to abort her baby, she is charged with nothing, she is exercising a woman's right to choose. Isn't that a double standard?
An unborn baby can recognize its mother voice, be startled by loud noises, sense danger, suck its thumb, etc. The only differance is that it hasn't breathed air.
If it had no immune system and had to be born and then kept in a sterile environment, thats about the same as a baby being inside the womb, it's not breathing outside air, but then killing it would be murder.
We are living with a double standard in America, in the name of political correctness, and unfortunately, we are sacrificing human babys on that alter of political correctness.
Isn't it murder?
Abortion should only be allowed if it is necessary to save the mother's life.

i agree with you completely and for all of those that say "well that's only depending on what the baby's gestational age and blah blah blah" just making up excuses......abortion is murder i don't care what the law says......it's a baby as soon as the egg and the sperm meet in my opinion i mean that is what happens when the two join together right? it forms into a baby and even if it is just cells at first those cells are living and growing.....what is it that people don't get about that.....i think that those who believe in abortion know deep down that it is wrong but they are too selfish to realize it and for those that have had an abortion close your legs and stop making up excuses for why you did it because you were wrong....i could say a lot more on this subject but i think you all get my point.

I'm kind of between sides on the abortion thing. I see what it is you're saying, but at the same time, it's only a double murder if the woman is in her second or third trimester. Nobody is allowed an abortion that late in pregnancy.
I have a little boy now, and the only reason he is here is because I could not AFFORD an abortion. I love him to death, and I wouldn't trade him for the world, but I'm only 21 years old, the father is a real jerk, he was abusive and he cheated on me, and then put me out knowing I was three months pregnant. I'm not raising as it is right now. Why? Because I'm in college, trying to get an education so I can better myself, so my son will have a better life than the one I can give him right now. When I found out I was pregnant, I was happy, then two weeks later my life changed completely. I was young, with no place to live, the father of my unborn baby had beat me and left me. Do you think I wanted a child? Hell, I couldn't afford to have a child. But I did, and now I have to make the best of things.
And to Tiffany-any smart parent wouldn't always know that they're daughter was raped. How many young girls would tell so soon afterward? After feeling ashamed, and feeling like they did something wrong, do you think they'd tell right away?
Don't always assume to know something you have no idea about.

Has anyone ever been brutally raped and had the baby? Where are the people to help with the child if the person has it? Just how many are waiting to be adopted and never do get adopted and are in foster homes? why are you all not adopting these kids then so more moms make the choice to not abort? My opinion on this one is that I dont know how I would feel if I was raped and had to have it. Health reasons I agree if life threatening.
When do you classify an unborn baby as an actual baby sucking its thumb? At 4 weeks it is not sucking its thumb and is an egg. It doesnt hear noises and is not startled at 4 weeks or even 5 or 6. Guess we should all not judge. That one is for God to decide. And we are all in America to voice that opinion. The pregnant woman wanted her child yes, but the one who aborted should not be classified as a murderer. I am sure the person who aborts lives with that for a lifetime and repents and makes that decision out of emotions and mixed up hormones and being scared and not having help or whatever. Now one who kills to kill is different then one who aborts for the one who aborts doesnt do it intentionally as a murder. Every person probably knows someone who has had an abortion but it is kept secret and we dont know it. You would be surprised just how many persons you know have had one and you dont even know it. God Bless America and our right to choice and opinion.

There are many opinions out there and there are many right and wrong answers. Although we live in a world where sex is the most lucrative market in business and we see murders on TV everyday and every time you turn on your local new or read your local newspaper you see so much depressing things everyday?
I feel the same way that you do. I do believe that it is a murder when a mother aborts her child and takes the life thereof. If I am correct the amount of children aborted each year is somewhere around 85,000 and grows with everyday. I find it sad we will give a drug addict 20 years but a mother who takes the life of a child suffers nothing. You see the man who is a drug addict had the freedom to make his choice but had to suffer the "Laws of the Land" and is now in Jail but there is no law against a mother taking the life of her unborn child besides the Physiological effect that will take toll on her body and then her mind.

Well the difference is... you can only have an abortion up until 12 weeks of pregnancy. Babies cannot hear noises, suck their thumbs or any of that until around 20 weeks. A woman who is murdered before 12 weeks of pregnancy will not be considered TWO murders either. The woman has to be in her second trimester for it to be a double murder.

I agree with you that it is murder. I disagree with your last sentence "Abortion should only be allowed if it is necessary to save the mother's life."
If you think abortion is murder then abortion is murder all the time otherwise it is a double standard that you seem to hate so much.
You can't have it both ways. If the mother's & the baby's life are in jeopardy then the baby's life should come first. The baby has the most potential for the future, the mom has already lived a good part of life and had experiences and made her mark, now it's time for the baby to do the same.
NO DOUBLE STANDARD, ABORTION AT ANY TIME IS MURDER.

You are not looking at circumstances. The difference is if the mother aborts the baby, it is inside her body. It is part of her. That's why she has a choice and it is not murder.
If abortions were outlawed, think about it. Infants would be born that were not wanted, which means they will know that and end up in the social welfare system and foster homes. What kind of life is that for a child?
What if the mother is fourteen years old? How can she possibly raise a child mentally or financially?
What if the mother was raped?
What if the mother is on drugs? And has no idea of who the father was?
What if the mother sells her body for a living? Who cares for the child while she is on the streets?
These babies end up raised by grand parents or family. They go from one home to another. They do know what a role model is, male or female. The parents sometimes end up behind bars. The child returns to the system.Grand parents are too old to raise another family.
The other side is the people that have the ways and means to support a child, but they just don't want another one. The happily married woman is pregnant at forty three years old. She doesn't want to start all over.
Yes, it is their responsibility to care for these children and all of them are aware of birth control. BUT, guess what? It happens despite all that.
Have you seen abused kids that were not wanted, but the mother felt it was her duty to keep them? Beaten, bruised, no self esteem, how do you think these kids grow up? They are raised like animals. There is much more of a stigma if a baby is given up for adoption than if you keep him/her and have no idea how to raise a decent human being.
I could go on, but I won't. I believe in abortions and I will never change my mind. If abortions were no longer legal, we would be in a world of trouble. Unless they pass the law that after two children you have to sterilized.
All of you guys can take a flying jump. Have you ever been 15 or 16 laying in labor praying for your boyfriend to show up? Have you ever felt labor pains or the pain in your heart? How many of you have raised a child on your own with no help? How many people at your school called you a slut and a whore when you tried to go back and get your education? How many of you went without food so you could buy diapers for the baby? How many of your friends quit talking to you because you had a baby to care for?
If half of you practiced birth control it would help! Instead of using the cop out, "oh, I thought she was on the pill. I am not ready for a kid."
So, shut up and keep your opinions to yourself. You will never experience these things so you have no say in the outcome.

"An unborn baby can recognize its mother voice, be startled by loud noises, sense danger, suck its thumb, etc." If I remember correctly, puppies and kittens can do many of the same things you describe here. Yet, millions are killed everyday in the local "pounds". Do you think we should charge all of those vets with murder as well?
While we're on the topic, what do you think about capital punishment and government-sponsored war? If "killing is wrong", then what do you think about putting someone to death or shooting someone because they joined the other country's army? Talk about double-standards...
Also, do you know who developed the law to make killing a pregnant woman a double-murder? It was written by pro-life groups, who knew that many people would come to that same conclusion. It was their way of trying to blur the lines, in order to slowly overturn Roe v Wade.
Personally, I think if you don't like abortion, don't have one.

The thing about it is, is all the things you mentioned don't happen until later in pregnancy when a woman can't get an abortion anymore. Its their choice, if a father can just walk out of a pregnancy why should women have to be forced into it. Its very unhealthy to force someone through pregnancy, it can cause alot of damage to the unborn child. Pro choice all the way.

It is murder. I agree with you fully. That the only way that a women should be able to have an abortion is if there are health risks for the mother. There are other ways to deal with an unwanted pregnancy. There are plenty of women out there in the world who are unable to have children of their own and they would be more then willing to take the child.
