I should be more specific - sorry - first time user here. I assumed it would be on the valve cover and when I lifted the hose where it should be, it wasn't there! My uncle has an '87 model with the same engine and his wasn't there either! So, I'm trying to find alternative locations.

it is mounted to a separator just in front of your oil filter... that is the drivers side and by in front i mean closer to you than the oil filter when standing in front of the truck. and its at about the same height as that filter but behind the mount for your power steering pump

It's been a while, but I don't THINK it is in the valve cover. On this one, I think it is down low, below the manifolds of if it a 4-cylinder. If it is a V-6, then look at the right (passenger's side) valve cover toward the firewall, just to the side of the heater-A/C box. It will have a fairly substantial hose and a 90 degree plastic cap connected to it.

on the valve cover. it looks like an elbow or a right angle with a hose running out . thats as easy as i can put it

Valve cover or on a inline vacuum line running to valve cover.

drivers side towards the rear down about six inches, its hard to find.
