Why did you choose this place? Does it have to do with religion, or something else?

That's so weird that you asked this question today, and that I saw it. Today would have been my 10 year anniversary if I'd stayed married. How weird is that??

Anyway, we got married in a Catholic church because my ex's family is very Catholic, and it was important to them that we be married in the church. We went to one that my aunt belonged to, since my immediate family and I aren't religious.

If there's a next time down that aisle for me, it's gonna be at the courthouse, and afterward all our friends will be waiting at a local bar with drinks to celebrate! :)

I'd like to get married outdoors somewhere because natural settings are predecorated and much more beautiful than what can be achieved aesthetically indoors. My dad has some friends who are judges, I'd rather have a judge perform the wedding than a minister since I'm an atheist. Some of my family is religious and probably wouldn't like the idea of a secular wedding, I think having one of my dad's friends perform the ceremony would get around any possible conflicts of interest (I don't want a religious debate occurring just because my bf and I want to get married). If for some reason having a family friend perform the ceremony does cause conflict, I'd just get a minister instead...who marries us shouldn't be a big deal anyway.

I've also thought about a Vegas wedding, but it may be kinda difficult to get everyone out there...I don't want to spend that much on the wedding, the money is better spent on a fun vacation or something more practical like house payments.

I'm an atheist, and I'll assume you want a serious answer. Even though I dont believe in God, the best wedding location I was at was a small little church on the Pacific Coast. The light shined in so beautifully, and the weather and outside view was perfect. It even stopped raining in N. California. If I believed in such nonsense, i'd thank God for such a beautiful day. However, it was just some good luck!

The Crystal Cathedral (Rev. Schuller's place).

A friend of ours wanted to play the organ at our wedding, so we asked him where he'd like to play. He said the CC, and since my mil wouldn't travel to Catalina Island like we really wanted, we got married there. It was beautiful.

Get married in a place you both like -- church or not. I think the officiant is more important that the location if you want to consider religious aspects. Just my 2 cents...

I got married 8/14/99 in a non denominational church because it was the one thing my husband asked of me (at the time I was a Wiccan and he was and still is a christian). The ceremony though was not very religious.

I got married at a hunting lodge on a plantation in South Georgia, USA. I chose it cause the owners let me use it for free, and I always wanted an outdoor wedding. It was great.

I got married by the Justice of the Peace in his office. We were driving into another state to drop off my nephew and decided to get married. It was quick and it was perfect for us. The only other person there was my son. We chose this because it was convenient.

We were married by a rabbi (a good friend of the family) in an outdoor ceremony by the beach. Tradition, honoring those who gave us life and freedom.
