No matter what I just can't fall asleep at night. I've tryed almost everything. Doing physical excerise, drinking tea, reading a book and now I'm thinking about taking sleep medication since nothing seems to work. I would rather not take any medication so if you have any tips they would be much appreciated.

G'day Raychel,

Thanks for the question.

I would see a doctor about it. There are sleep specialists who can help you.

Insomnia is characterized by an inability to sleep and/or to remain asleep for a reasonable period. Insomniacs typically complain of being unable to close their eyes or "rest their mind" for more than a few minutes at a time. Both organic and nonorganic insomnia constitute a sleep disorder.

It is often caused by fear, stress, anxiety, medications, herbs or caffeine. An overactive mind or physical pain may also be a cause. Finding the underlying cause of insomnia is usually necessary to cure it. That is why you should speak with your doctor.

I have attached some sources for your reference.

Regards

There is a reason why you are unable to shut the mind down.. the imagination takes over if you have any tiny bit of success in this direction. There are some things buried within your mind, causing this dilemma to occur. When they are eliminated, you will have no trouble going to sleep. Taking sleep medication may ease the concern for the lack of sleep but, has done nothing to take care of the causative factor.Contact me if you would like to have more information.

Lay there and try, think about stupid things, when you are tired, no matter what the time is try to get some sleep, I don't know I've never been a good sleeper and I fight trying to sleep when it's evening and I still have things to do but then it is night and then I can't sleep. I wish I had an answer for you.

well somedays I have that problem. I usually do like aerobics until I am just too tired to go on. If that fails, i just start doing chores or something productive, and I eventually fall asleep
