In a lot of states your insurance company has to pay for it with no deductible since it is considered a hazard.

Otherwise, depending on the size of the "star" you can live with it or get a new windshield. Used ones can be bought from auto salvage companies for a lot cheaper than a dealer.

But, you should always check around before paying to have it done.

If it is a small crack you can go to any windshield repair stand and they will fix it for free if you have qualifying insurance otherwise they may charge you @ $20-$30. Make sure you get it fixed as soon as possible because now in days the police will give you a ticket just for that defect.

go to your nearsest auto parts store and buy a Windshield repair kit. Tell the clerk what your situation is and he/she will help. It's actually an easy job, but mentally frustrating. Good luck, God bless.
