Is it possible to have very mild body dysmorphia? I sometimes weigh myself and I'm half a pound heavier and when I look in the mirror, I think I look so much fatter than when I was half a pound lighter. I know that half a pound can't make any difference to how I look, so is this a form of mild body dysmorphia or can you only really have the full thing and I'm just weird?

You're not weird and you don't have body dysmorphic syndrome, you might just be a bit sensitive right now to your looks in general.
We all feel this way at some point or another in our lives when we tend to be very self-conscious and just worry about trivial things.
You certainly don't need to obssess about half a pound since your body can be up to 5 pounds heavier or lighter depending on internal body changes such as your periods.

Most likely you don't have bd, girls are paranoid and self conscious of their weight and looks anyway. If it's a 'mild case' it should just be confidence issues. It's only when it gets more serious it's classed as body dysmorphic disorder. As I should know having it myself

It could be in your mind, or it could be just weird bloating and stuff. It happens.

Plus, depending on what scale you use, it might not be entirely accurate.

I think BDD has various forms. See a psychologist. They'll know for sure.
