Mark Twain once said:
It's easy to quit smoking. I've done it many times....
See your dr/mentor/psychologist...
I used the patch the LAST time I quit 3 1/2 yrs ago. The only thing that kept me clean was the determination I had to get pregnant and not raise a kid in a cloud of smoke. Find something inside of you that will help you remember how important it is for you to do this. I know that you probably won't get hospitalized for od ing on Marlboro Reds, so you will have to find something deeper to motivate you. It CAN be done, it just might take a bit of trial and error to find the formula.
Best of luck.

well I heard that once you get past the third day, the rest is a breeze, try that. If you cant, I once had a teacher who went to this clinic, where there were a few ladies, and the doctor came in with a face mask. He made them smoke until they vomited, and then they could leave. It was a sealed room, so it did not take long. Then she did not smoke after that. But do not try that on your own, that would be very dangerous. Go talk to a doctor about it.

Quit what? Cigerettes? Yes, it is very hard to quit. The trick that helped me was to have one cigerette in my pocket. This is the cigerette I say no to. As long as I have this cigerette, it would make no sense for me to ask someone for a cigerette or buy another pack. And as long as I keep telling myself I can't smoke you because I need you to last me a lifetime, I'll never need to ask for a cigerette or buy a pack. If I never ask for a cigerette or buy another pack, and if I can't smoke this cigerette, I'll never have another smoke. It worked until I went to Vegas and told myself "What's happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas" No. Picking up a cigerette again doesn't stay there. It follows you home. I messed up.

There isn't one. If you were able to kick drugs, you can quit smoking. The key is that you are doing it because you want to, not somebody else wants you to.
Cold turkey! Just don't do it!

Shock value got my dad to quit in 2 seconds
If there is no shock value for you my suggestion would be to do either accupuncture or use gum and a punching bag.
