Floyd Landice won the race, so he has the title. The test results put that title in doubt, and the association that runs the Tour de France will bring it to court. But, until that judge says that Mr. Landice cheated and doesn't deserve the title he will hold it.
France says that the 2nd place winner, a Spaniard, is the real titleholder, but that until the court case is finished Mr. Landice will hold the yellow jersey (in another words they two have to wait for the court decision).
I watched Mr. Landice's appearance on the Tonight Show and he seemed believable and honest. Jay Leno asked him if he cheated. He also said, “You seem like a smart guy, and you know you were being tested...” This may sound like he is leaning toward Mr. Landice, but Jay Leno has a point. Floyd KNEW he was going to be tested, if for no other reason than the French would not want another American to take the title. But, it is hard to argue with the facts. I will buy most stories about why he had extra testosterone (except a night of heavy drinking), but with synthetic testosterone detected I have some doubts. The only question in my mind is with the actual testing. Is it valid, and was it done correctly. On one test for Lance Armstrong the French testers knew which sample belonged to Lance. That is wrong and renders any results suspect. Lance never tested positive, but Floyd only tested positive on ONE day. He passed the other tests. I don’t know how long it takes for the human body to eliminate testosterone, or how much it can eliminate in one day.
I am waiting for the court case before I make up my mind. If the other samples that had no synthetic testosterone in them, have a high testosterone amount then I would be more likely to believe Floyd. If the test is shown to be valid, and if it was done in a proper manner then I would favor the French. The deciding issue is on the Synthetic Testosterone. If it was present then Floyd cheated. If it was not really in the sample (by error or intent) then the French are wrong.

The title was stripped from Floyd Landis last Friday when the "B" sample came back positive. He is appealing but that is a long shot.

Right now yes. It will take a few weeks for them to take it away or let him keep it. Right now he is making the rounds of late night TV saying how unfair the doping charge is, maybe someone spiked a drink, etc.

He was framed and that will all come out in time. Remember a few years ago they were ready to string up Armstrong but in the end, he prevailed.
Prediction. Lance will come back next year and stick it to the French!
YEAH!
