your genes are a mix and variation of that of your parents and their parents and their parents and so on....so, your sister or brother's genes are also a mix of your parents' genes, but they both have some variation that results in individuality...otherwise u'd all look the same..i hope it's clear now..

Brown eyes are dominant blue eyes are recessive that means to get blue eyes both the Mom and the DAd have to have a recessive gene. Which in your case they did cuz iof the light coloured eyes.
You only need 1 dominant gene for the dominance to show up but 2 recessive genes for that to show (blue eyes) So either your dad has a recessive blue eyed gene or these are someone elses kids(does one of his parents have blue eyes?)
Can't help you with the hair though

well you sound like your a definate mix between mom and dad.. your hair is from both, and your eyes too. your sister could have gotten the blue eyes from the green eyes or the red hair (i know that sound sweird buttt) and the blonde hair definately came from the red hair... and your little brother sounds just like you only his hair happens to be lighter.. it really does all make sense when you really break it down.. hard to explain.. thats a good question though.

People have two genes, a dominant gene and a recessive gene. The dominant gene is the gene the u can physically see, such as ur dad having black hair. A recessive gene is carried by the person but not visibile. U received the recessive gene of ur parents (which would make it ur dominant gene). When u have children they might get ur recessive gene. Its all by chance which genes u get

Ok-- for eyes:
Mom: bb -- not brown
Dad: Bb- brown
You all: can have brown or not brown (hazel, blue, green, and gray are caused by other genes that are more complicated)
Hair:
Mom: bb- not brown
Dad: Bb- brown
You all: can be brown or not brown. (red, blonde, and brown are all possible)
I hope this helps.

what's throwing off the gene pool is your mom's red hair...having red hair is actually a birth defect caused by mutated undeveloped genes...now mix that with your dads beautiful dark genes (which are always dominant over lighter colors)...and you get you , wonderfully reflecting both gene pools...enjoy being unique

First, look at your grandparents, and potentially even their
parents.
Second, remember that there are lots of genes involved in
the coloring of hair and eyes - it is never as simple as your
high school genetics course would have you believe.

Both hair color and eye color are determined by multiple genes...so there is lots of variation in both...even within the same family.

It's because your mom is a sl*t (or you don't understand genetics).
It's not even just a simple case of recessive and dominant genes, there is co-dominance and mutations too.
