Better at what? I see much misinformation and doubtful tales in the answers. Chuck Norris was a middleweight martial arts champion in 1968. Bruce Lee didn't compete. He put on some impressive exhibitions, but a biographer says he couldn't stand to lose, so he only appeared in movies in which the script let him win, rather than competing in actual martial arts tournaments. Norris studied under Lee. Bruce was born in my home town in 1940, a Dragon Year, as Lee JunFaan. In Hong Kong movies he is billed as Lee SaiLung (Little Dragon Lee). He studied Wing Chun originally. It is a very efficientstyle but not as flashy as Lee wanted for movies, so he added some moves from Korean Tae Kwan Do and Occidental boxing. He invented his own style he called Jeet Kune Do (Way of Intercepting Fist). He died at age 32 on 7/20/73. There are several wild theories about his death. I suppose that if Lee and Norris had a full contact bout in 1968 or so, I'd bet on Norris, because we know he could win world championships and had the advatage in size. We do not know how Lee would do in such bouts.

Bruce Lee is the better martial artist. But I believe in a real street fight Chuck Norris would win. Just because you're a lot more fancy and flashy doesn't actually mean better. The most basic techniques are the most effective. I think he would have been too big and strong for Bruce. Chuck's technique is excellent as well. Let's not forget he was a world champion.

My answer would be Chuck Norris. I trained with Master Norris and his consistency in the martial arts over the years bears recognizing. Master Norris's contributions to Tae Kwon Do will forever takes its place in history.
As for Master Bruce Lee, he died way before his time and more money has been made off of what all others think he meant in his writings when the actual truth is no one will ever know. Many have used Master Lee's name for their own gain while Master Norris has ALWAYS been able to back up his claims.

Tie, but Bruce Lee beat Chuck in real life. But Norris taught Lee the art of kicking. Lee is dead, while Norris is still around.
