only reason he wouldn't is genetics, and tooth make up, maybe he just has harder healthier teeth. i know what it feels like i take excellent care of my teeth and all my husband does is brush twice a day, and hasn't even been to a dentist since he was 12 and he has perfect teeth, and i unfortunately don't.

Ive wondered this myself. When I was younger I never brushed my teeth, really I think the dentist was the only one to. My brother did faithfully and got cavities. Now I brush my teeth twice a day and when I went to the dentist... cavities!! I dont know what this means but it is strange. I guess you have to choose to have white teeth and cavities or yellow and no cavities.

because believe it not toothpaste wears away the enamel. I never brushed my teeth then i went to the dentist and told me to brush them because i could cavities i was 15. I started brushing my teeth and wouldnt you know it i ended up having three cavities by the time i was 18. I got them fixed and i dont brush my teeth any more.... i just use listerine. It sounds gross but id rather have enamel on my teeth than nasty cavities rotting out my mouth

Some people have all the luck. Or, some people simply don't have the particular germs that are so good at making cavities. Relax, though. When you are 40, you'll still have all of your teeth and your brother will wake up and find one on his pillow. Very few adults are so resistant to gum disease that they can get away with ignoring their teeth for long...

When my mom was pregnant with my sister, she had a high fever. As a result, my sister's developing teeth were very week. She had to have almost all of them capped, crowned etc. I've also heard of cases where a small child suffered a high fever and the developing adult teeth suffered. I know that my sister had some of her permanent molars come in crumbling (which had to be pulled) and many others were discolored and cavity prone. I have none of these problems. Perhaps something similar happened to you while you were en-utero or very young.

Some people have thicker enamel than others, it totally depends on the person.
