First of all, you need to take some Ibuprofin (if you're not allergic to it). It will help reduce the swelling and pain.

Second, take a very cool to cold bath--this will help reduce the damage that the burn did to your skin. It will also help with the swelling, pain, and redness. If you can't take a bath, get some ice and rub it on the burned areas.

Third, drink plenty of clear fluids and make sure you're keeping hydrated.

If you have blisters, do NOT pop them. This will not only hurt, but it can leave bad scars. Blisters mean you have at least second degree burns. Not good!

If you have a lot of blisters, especially if you have a fever or the blisters have pus in them, you need to immediately go to the doctor. You probably have sun poisoning. This is very dangerous and can make you very sick.

If your skin is peeling, do not "help" it along...don't peel your skin. That also can cause very bad scarring (I have a big scar on my nose from peeling it as a kid when I had a sunburn--I'm now 35 and the scar is still there!).

The main treatments for sunburn include using a topical moisturizers made with aloe to soothe the area, and provide some relief. Taking cool baths can also help with the pain. Ibuprofen can be taken to reduce the pain. To prevent dehydration a person should drink lots of fluids. If the sunburn had developed into blisters, an antibiotic cream may be prescribed to help prevent a secondary infection. The main thing is to try and keep the individual as comfortable as possible.
There are also Aloe Vera gels that contain ingredients that will slightly numb the burn to relieve the pain.

Here are some things I've tried in the past and each one worked

1. Get two towels wet and put in freezer. Once frozen or very very cold place over legs. That will help some pain

2. If the burn is new and still has the burninging feeling (I know this sounds gross but it works) put desitin (diaper rash cream for babies) on it at night (beware it will get all over your bedding)

3. Aloe applied as often as you can will help

4. Silvadine is great for the burn too

Get aloe vera in the bottle and put it in the fridge to get cold. Then crush an aspirin. After the aloe is cold, mix the two together and apply to the sunburn. Ahhhh, now doesn't that feel better.

well what I usually do is first get in really cold water to cool it down a little. Then I apply aloe vera, and once that dries I put on either sunscreen or lotion, that usually makes it heal like 10 times faster for me

This may sound funny but...place some wet tea bags on the area.....or throw tea bags in the bath water and soak if its a larger area...also you can make a paste out of powdered milk and apply to the area...one more......slather mayo on the sunburned skin it works well too. Good luck!

I would also agree that Aloe Vera is great for sunburns. But, in your case, I would jam the bottle up your a$$ because you misspelled stretching. God damn you're an idiot. Congrats on being such an idiot.

Use moisturizer. It won't necessarily make the pain go away (you should have thought about that when you went outside with no sunscreen), but it will help the sunburn heal faster.

Take a cool bath in Aveeno to dull the burn. Afterwards, rub clear aloe on your legs every hour to loosen your skin. It works!
