Stopped taking it, then seemed to have less depression? I am starting to think that the Zoloft was actually keeping me depressed instead of allowing me to feel better. Has anybody else here had the same experience?

Yes, I was really sad and crying at the stupidist things for about a week, then I began to feel a lot better. I also have a very high stress job which was one of the contributing factors to my depression. But now I seem to be able to handel the stress much better.

I am currently taking Zoloft for about two years now. I have tried to wean myself off once or twice, only to become extremely sad with uncontrollable crying. Not really depressed, but very weepy at every little thing....even when there wasn't any reason to cry. I continue to take Zoloft because I have a very high stress job and I need to be calm and even-tempered at work. Hopefully, some day I will be able to stop taking it, but for now......

I was depressed before I was put on Zoloft, but while I was on it I was unable to attend school, leave my house, or socialize, and I tried to kill myself at least twice. Most antidepressants have been shown to worsen depression in some patients, but not all of them will- if you're still having problems with depression, tell your doctor what happened while you were on Zoloft and see if they'll let you try something else.

sometimes meds can poop out and you have to change them, or get a stronger dose, zoloft is the one med i dont like, it only helps for a little while, and if you take yourself off, you crash real fast, try talking to your doc and get another med, it takes about a month to leave your system, and if you think you dont need any more meds, give it a few months to really see, but only under doc supervision. it can get really serious if not. hope it helped.

I'm taking it currently, though I had a boyfriend who was on it while he was in mental hospital and he seemed to think it made him worse. Effects are different for everyone, I guess.
