There's usually something in the divorce/custody papers about what the other parent has to pay on top of child support (such as half of the medical bills and tuition). Child support is usually to cover basic expenses (such as housing, clothes and food), and there's usually something about the extras. I would talk to my lawyer if I were you, it doesn't sound like the ex is going to be very cooperative.

My attorney told me I have to ask for that. He is responsible for child support, half daycare and half of school cost. Don't forget the medical insurance he should have to provide that or help pay for yours. He is always responsible for half the medical bills.
My ex does not make enough or work anywhere long enough to be responsible for insurance and he does not have to pay any for what i have since my union dues pays for insurance. Insurance is the only thing he might not have to pay for. Make him pay.

This is something that should have been dealt with when everything ended...If you're NOT like my husband's ex wife..then you'd pay half and he should pay half...IF you ARE like his ex-wife..expect him to get another job to pay for your butt to sit at home and collect the child support! Sorry! NOT YOUR FAULT!! I think that it should be half and half...but it should have been brought up at the child support hearing..

yes, he is supose to pay half out of pocket..he is also supose to pay half the health insurance and such out of pocket..the child support is not for that purpose..contact your lawyer if he refused to pay..it's something that is court ordered..and each person who goes through the child support process is told the same thing.
also if he is late on paying his child support, 1st they will suspend his lisence, then call him in for a court hearing, then eventualy arrest him..and if he just falls a bit behind when he goes to pay his taxes, the goverment sends you a check from his refund.

Child Support unless its not enough to cover it ...
If you both want him to have best education at a private school (is it ??) then I think both should pay half ...
Ask your lawyer for advise ...

There's no law either way, sadly. It's up to him to have the decency to pay. Child support covers day-to-day living
