I dont what you confused the firts answer that said that simile is llike a metaphor dont get confused.

this are my definitions for u:

simile:comparing two unlike things using the words "like" or "as"
example:The mouse was like a dog when it was being chased.
notice that i used the word ~like~ comparing the mouse with a dog

metaphor:comparing two unlike things WITHOUT using the words like or as.
example:The cat is a lighting when the dog was chasing it.
Notice I didnt use the word like or as but i was comparing .The cat was like lightning because it was running fast when the dog was chasing it.

April Song by Sara Teasdale

Spring was like a call to me
