to add to nytrauma's answer, this condition is not widely accepted among the medical community as a disease. most doctors are taking the claims of those who have the condition with a grain of salt. most docor's think that this condition is some sort of delusional parasitosis disorder. the condition has become a large topic of discussion on the internet and many believe th internet is feuling this frenzy. to decide whether or not the condition is real or imagined, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is investigating claims.
