You can make chicken salad or tuna salad. What my wife and I usually do is go pick up something at a fast food and then some donuts or pastries and then go for our picnic. There is no cooking or cleaning after the picnic so we get to enjoy it very much.

Ohh, just had a simple yummy dessert at a picnic.

Chips A'hoy Cookies
Coolwhip
Milk
Chocolate Syrup

Dip cookies in milk, and layer a pan with them, spread a layer of cool whip, dizzle lightly with the syrup. Repeat three times cover the top with crumbled cookies! Amazingly good when made a bit in advance.
