when my husband and i got married in college we didn't have much money and couldn't afford expensive presents to each other... plus- i like the personal touch... i ended up just buying a little journal and writing love letters in it for him... i told him that way, if i was ever mad at him, or we were apart (he's in the air force) then he could read it and know that he would always be the only one for me. he really loved it and it was very personal for both of us. i wrote the last letter right after our wedding and gave it to him that night... telling him how glad i was to be his wife...

I gave my husband a "Kegerator", its basically a mini-fridge that is turned into a keg, complete with a tap handle and all. I had it stocked and waiting for us at home after the wedding. My husband still calls me the "coolest" wife ever. LOL. I got mine on ebay for about $470, but you can get fancier ones almost anywhere. Here's a link to a site that has a bunch. Good luck!

A watch, perhaps engraved.
Cuff links.
Something relating to a hobby he like that he would not buy for himself.
