Even if it is made in the store rather than shipped in frozen it will not be as fresh as in a restaurant. Even if you buy it as soon as it is placed it will not be as fresh as if it was prepared especially for you.

Heavens no. Don't eat sushi from a grocery store that doesn't have a real chinese Chief that knows what he's doing. You could die an awful death from bad sushi and find yourself in China Heaven. People would be talking Chinese all the time and you wouldn't know what the heck they were saying about you.

I guess it depends on the store because the stores where I live don't make sushi nearly as good as when you are getting it fresh from a su-chef

here where i live the store i shop at witch is Heb makes fresh sushi daily if it is not sold it is thrown away. and it is as good as you will find in any restaurant. it is all hand made with fresh products

I know that my local supermarket - Farm Fresh make there sushi fresh. I've seen them doing it.

yes you can get it at an upscale supermarket, the safeway by my job has a sushi tech on site, who will make anything you rquest and its really good.
