How old is the dog? Vomiting foam can be a number of things... When my cat was vomiting foam, she was diagnosed with kidney disease. Not trying to scare you, because there are a lot of reasons. He/she could have an upset stomach and the foam was from not having food in the stomach. You can give pepcid as directed, but I cut it in half. The best thing to do would be to have your dog vet checked just to be sure :)

take your dog to the vet. I have a 13 year old shitzu and almost everytime she vomits, its a foamy substance. Once a shitzu is more than 9 or 10 years old, all they really do is sleep....so that might be what you call "sluggish." Take her to the vet as soon as possible and also while you are there, have her anal glands checked.

Dogs have upset tummies just like humans do,,,Has he been chewing any grass?,,,,,,,they will do this (on purpose) & it usually will make them vomit, greenish colour foam.....make him some porridge or boil him some rice, this is the best way that I have found to settle their tummies,,If he is dehydrated get him to the vets..... I don`t know where you are located, but its been too hot, & most animals are sluggish right now......Dogs are not humans but a little common sense goes a long way into solving some situations...I don`t think that every time an animal vomits warrants a vet visit, UNLESS IT IS OF A MORE SEVERE & OR PROLONGED NATURE, Animals will have loose stools & upset stomachs periodically just like we do. They slow down with heat & aging as well....Just observe your pet as you would one of your children.....

Has he been coughing??? When a dog has full blown kennel cough, they hack up white foamy stuff. K.C. is very contagious to other dogs. So when you go to the vet tell them it is a possibility, You will need to use a private door away from the well dogs. But have him checked.

Have you put anything out for rats or other insect repellents? Sometimes the dogs will lick the poison you put out to get rid of pests. Have a vet check him out. If you haven't put out anything, check with your neighbors. Since your dog is small, it doesn't take much insecticide to cause a reaction.
