It really is a hard decision between Great Dane and American Pit Bull Terrier. But I will have to go with APBT. Great Danes have cool quirks like "sitting" just their bums on the couch with all feet on the floor like a human- too cute! But I have an APBT now who is the most gentle, sweet, loyal, smart dog! My 1.5 year old nephew is so mean to her sometimes and she just loves him and licks him and follows him around adoringly. She probably knows more neat tricks than any two of my previous dogs combined. I'd trust her with any little kid more than I'd ever have trusted the Dane or my sister's Black Lab. Some of the neighborhood kids like to play soccer with her- it's her favorite game. :)

My favorite big breeds are Golden Retrievers, Labs & Boxers because they are very loving 'ol slobs and are faithfull to the end with their loyalty. They also have very good tempernments, and NEVER bite even the most annoying people. They do, however, only live until around age 10.

As for medium sized pooches, I'd have to say the Border Collies, Spaniels (of any kind) & Australian Shepherds are the best because of their tempernments and fun-loving personalities. They also lead fairly long lives of around 15+ years.

For the lap dogs, my favorites are Doxies, Chihuahuas, & Terriers (of any kind). Although they can be a little high-strung and snappy, the make faithful companians and, with the proper training, are good pets for most owners. They also come with long lives; up to 20+ years!

My dog! He is a Bearded Collie/Husky mix and he is really sweet, smart, and cute! I don't have a specific favorite breed of dog, because I want to keep my mind open to all dogs. I mean, pitbulls are considered to be horrible dogs, but with the right training, they can be a sweet as any lab or retriever.

Boxers and Pittbulls...

I don't like small dogs, they are so frail and delicate. I like big, rough dogs. I think small dogs are cute, sometimes adorabe... but I would not get one for myself.

I have 3 Pittbulls, they are soooo sweet and lovely... I am totally against people who take them all to be very agressive. Mine are not. I've raised them to be very sociable. We do have caution with them, you know, around people. They are all love with my family and myself. Who would think that such a big dog could be so lovely. My oreo dog even sais "maaa" when he is hungry or sad. I love my "desasiaros"... that is what I call all three.

Golden Retrievers. That's all I've ever had. Mine is about 110 lbs. but it's not fat he's just big. I think his head comes up to my knee (I'm 5'9").

Although I think it'd be fun to have a Great Dane.....big couch potatoes....like me! lol

I don't really like little dogs......you can't hug them like you can with my dog! Little dogs kinda scare me too......

Shelties, and herding dogs in general, they are the smartest, sweetest, most loyal, and most obedient dogs- they were bred to be, you can't have a stupid, disobedient, disloyal, aggressive or slow responding sheepdog, they don't perform.
