May have pulled a muscle. Chihuahua's don't know they're small so they're prone to try things maybe shouldn't try. Sometimes it will start to feel better and the dog will jump off of the couch or something and it will be sore again. Could be arthritis too. Good idea to take him to the vet though, just to be sure.

Somtimes Chi's unvolentarily are born with weak knees. My first Chi has a weak joint, but only had a problem with it once. It popped out of socket while we were at the vets. Luckily, they popped it back in and she only limped for a little bit of the next day. That might be the problem.

contact distinct elements of the leg to work out what's inflicting him to limp and take a examine out massaging the area. If his limping escalates or would not end then its under no circumstances a foul theory to call a community vet and get him checked

If he scoots his butt on the floor, its probably his anal glands. A dogs anal glands become filled with fluid. some dogs need them squeezed every week, some once a year. but some never have to at all. this is common in small dogs towards older age, but if your dog is limping on just one of his legs, maybe he hurt. The vet is a great idea but while you're there, have his anal glands checked.

it could be a sprain or arthritis. You can give your dog buffered aspirin at the rate of 5 mg per/lb every 12 hrs for pain
