A question 4 u, do u actually use the potty also when u take your son to potty? Children tend to emulate their parents. Praise your son when he does use the potty. Be patient and don't let your temper get the best of you if he has accidents. Summer is definitely the best time to potty train, so you're well on your way.

Get started with the disposable cooling training pants. He will tell you he needs this stuff off him and then you can start the potty pot.
It is not a toilet but a seat with a bed pan to empty about his size.
Then the showing a boy how to do it is best by a male you trust of course. Praise what ever is in the pot like it is a big deal.
And you have your potty trained child.

My friend had a lot of trouble with her son as well. What ended up working was her idea of putting a big piece of paper on the bathroom wall with everyones name in the family on it. She let her son pick out a stamp and every time he went potty by himself, he got to stamp a star next to his name... and the rest of the family did it, too. It turned into a competition for him and he started to want to go on his own so he could get as many stars as possible by his name. Worked wonders. He was over three years old.

Potty training is actually a psychological thing. No matter how much you try to teach your child to potty train, he won't do it until it clicks in his head exactly what it is that he's supposed to be doing.
Give him time...there's no reason to rush. Be patient with him, and keep being excited when he DOES use it.

By not going alone, your son is expressing every kids first time emotions, that he is scare of this big step in life. It may be a security issue and he only feels safe completing the daily task when you are beside him. A good idea is to test his security and try to find ways of letting him gain self confidence. Do this with all his tasks (ex. eating, sleeping, etc.) and when he feels comfortable doing things on his own, then your worries may be gone.

remain consistant, keeping asking him if he has to potty, keep giving him the idea that he needs to go to the potty. If you let up he will back track and trying again will be harder.

whilst he's at domicile, make him positioned on undies. whilst he does the deed in his pants, make him circulate bare..additionally attempt making him watch you sparkling his undies and tell him next time he would be the single cleansing them. Stand by utilising this, each and every time he does it, make him wash his undies out contained in the potty..i be conscious of it sounds terrible, yet whilst they ought to work out what you wade with the aid of it each and every from time to time helps. tell him he cant circulate to everyone, or stay together with his grandparents etc, until eventually he can positioned on enormous boy undies without messing them up. Trick Psychology him and tell him he will ought to circulate to college bare if he retains messing up his undies..at last you will discover something which will artwork for him. basically attempt one and follow it as long as your endurance will enable. Boys are like this nevertheless. My son replaced into exceeded 3 earlier he have been given it top. I had to undergo many days of nasty undies, earlier it replaced into over..

first of all don't worry. Some children are early and some are a bit later. You may find that all of a sudden he will take to it in a couple of weeks.
The sticker system worked well for us. Tell him there's a sticker for everytime he trys. Good luck
