If its the one I'm thinking of, its red and about the size of a small mango, and has lots of little black seeds in the white flesh, I know it as dragon fruit. I got one from a chinese supermarket in Canada.
Sorry I dont know the proper name!!!

It sounds like to me that it may be a papaya. Papaya is that color and shape so I am probably correct.
