My mate puts out cigarettes on his dog and says he dont feel it. Im not so sure tho? What should I do. I dont like seeing it?

that is animal abuse and is against the law.
Tell your mate to put his cigarette out on himself and then ask if he felt it... Dogs feel pain and if you don't believe it go to your nearest critical care animal hospital in your area and take a tour of the animals that have been put through abuse and are trying to stay alive...look at the pain in their eyes,their body shivering because they can't say I hurt all they can do is deal with the pain.
People like your mate have no business owning a dog or any animal for that matter...
Save the dog from him take it to the shelter when he's not home, at least then the dog will go to someone who cares about it....

Wait until your mate goes to sleep & then put a cigarette out on his face. Then tell him it feels the same to the dog! I hope this is a sick joke, but if not get the dog away from your mate immediately. He should be arrested and you should be for allowing it to happen. It's animal cruelty.

Yes dogs do feel pain. I have seen a dog get hit by a car and yell in pain. I have seen a dog that has been mauled by another dog cry. My brother made a mistake and stepped on my mom's Shitzu when the dog was a puppy and Kobe, that's my mom's dog's name, howled in pain. Your mate is sick. A sign that a person will hurt or kill a human is cruelty to animals. BE CAREFUL. He may try using you as his ashtray next.

Get a new mate! Anyone who would hurt an animal (of course it feels pain - didn't the dog howling clue you in??) could move on to hurt humans. That's just sick and you're giving him an audience. Get out of there!

WHAT!dogs feel pain but they don't show it. they have to be like that because if they where in the wild they would easily get picked off by a predator.someone should burn a him with a cigarette!

And yes, dogs feel pain. If your boyfriend were really putting out cigarettes on the dog, the dog would yelp and you would know.

Your mate is very abusive and should be reported immediately! Dogs certainly do feel pain! And how does your mate treat you? I would be very suspicious of anyone who abuses innocent animals. For me, that would be a deal breaker. I'd be gone so fast I wouldn't even leave a shadow!

Dogs do feel pain but their pain threshold is higher than humans. Extinguishing cigaretts on a dog is cruel. You should STOP him.

You should call the police immediately. Dogs can feel pain and this is incredibly abusive of your "mate". He needs to be put away... if he can do this to an animal, he'll certainly do it to a child.
