Get ahold of Social Security. If his cancer makes him unable to work, he does qualify. And given the situation, they can try to hurry his approval along. Also, have his doctor help with this. Contact the companies that make the drugs he needs. There's alot of things that can be done, just talk to his doctor. Getting his doctor involved in the situation will only help. Some are willing to give them and take payments. There's so many programs out there, I just cannot remember the names. try doing a search for cancer support groups, or contact the American Cancer Society, they can give you some good tips. Cancer is such a hard thing to deal with, I hope your step-father and your family all the best.

He needs to apply for Social Security Disability. My husband was a caseworker for the Dept. of Human Services (Tx) for 10 years, and is receiving SSD now for disability. When my mom became disabled due to her cancer, my husband told my step-dad that in her condition, they could give her an "immediate" approval for SSD.

And, although once receiving SSD the "typical" recipient has to wait approx 18-24 mos to receive Medicare, under the circumstances of cancer (depending on the stage and prognosis), they may be able to get your step-father onto Medicare expiditiously as well, after being approved for the SSD.

You didn't say why he was denied Medicaid. Again, this is something my husband worked with, and if he has zero income he should qualify... unless his spouse is working and making an income that is more than the guideline.

Try Social Security. However, you might look up an attorney that specializes in helping people get SSD. We obtained the services of an attorney that used to work for Social Security and knew the "red tape" and how to bypass it. These attorneys don't normally get paid up front, but receive a percentage of the first disability payment (that's how it worked for us). They can save a lot of time, and the chance of denial the first time is much lower.

But under the circumstances, I don't see how he could be denied.

Good luck to you and your family.

they could prepare because a large type of the liberals that elevate Rush Limbaugh and actual care about what he says are the TMZ followers which have at present change into followers of politics. Chaos could be incited and Wanda Sykes could have an open invitation to make some more effective jokes about the guy. Rush Limbaugh may be secretly putting liberals on his pay roll as his inventory has skyrocketed. Little widespread actuality to a large type of the recent liberals: He has been doing this ingredient for over 20 years. word: I actually have under no circumstances listened to his prepare and screw the Republicans too. i'm merely no longer saying something that is no longer actual.

Yea, talk to the dr I am sure he can help somehow, find someone.
Heck, for my ct scans, and all the other bills,my dr called and talked to them himself!

The hosptials get grants that help pay for patients. Contact the financial dept and explain to them what is going. THere's paper work for that.
They watn to know how much you make, bills, cars etc. We have a motorhome, own our home, and have a small cc bill, and they still payed 80% of our out of pocket.
So someone is there that will helep your step dad

Good luck
God Bless

Try your local county hospital, they can't deny him treatment and that includes medications at least that's how it is here in Cleveland.
