Dude, latch on to 1 John 1:9 and the promise that God will forgive us if we ask and we're serious, but let go of the sin and don't go back to it. I wrote an entry on my blog a while back after listening to the song "All That Matters" by Jonah 33 that I think pretty much sums up anything in our lives that isn't what God wants for us. Check out the link below.

Luke 18 Story of the Pharisee and Tax Collector
9 Then Jesus told this story to some who had great self-confidence and scorned everyone else: 10 "Two men went to the Temple to pray. One was a Pharisee, and the other was a dishonest tax collector. 11 The proud Pharisee stood by himself and prayed this prayer: `I thank you, God, that I am not a sinner like everyone else, especially like that tax collector over there! For I never cheat, I don't sin, I don't commit adultery, 12 I fast twice a week, and I give you a tenth of my income.'
13 "But the tax collector stood at a distance and dared not even lift his eyes to heaven as he prayed. Instead, he beat his chest in sorrow, saying, `O God, be merciful to me, for I am a sinner.' 14 I tell you, this sinner, not the Pharisee, returned home justified before God. For the proud will be humbled, but the humble will be honored." You are on the right path admitting you are a sinner.

Gods mercy for HIs children is new everyday. We actually keep ourselves in fear when we feel like He wont forgive us. Fear comes from the devil, the bible says He has not given us a spirit of fear, but of a sound mind. You know sometimes we are harder on ourselves and less forgiving of ourselves that God is. First you need to forgive yourself. If we keep bringing up our past sin that has been washed by the blood of Jesus, God doesnt know what we are talking about because His word says that as soon as we ask Him to forgive us, that our sin goes into the sea of forgetfulness. We are harder on ourselves that God is and that can put us into legalism and fear. Gods mercy is new each day and his forgiveness and endless. There is NO unpardonable sin we can commit- remember there is nothing we did to make HIm start loving us, so theres nothing we can do to make Him stop :).... Rise up and be the mighty annointed vessel that God has purposed for you to be. Hun, theres no time to sit back and feel guilt and condemnation for our forgiven sins. The devil though would liuke to hinder the purposes and plans of God in your life by making you feel this way,, also the bible says, There is no condemnation is Christ Jesus- the difference between condemnation and conviction is this--- condemnation is from the devil- it causes you to keep replaying your past sins and makes you feel guilty and fearful--- conviction is when you are doing something wrong and God convicts you- God convicts you when the sin is commited so that we have a choice to turn from it and repent and ask God to forgive us right then- God corrects those He loves. Hope this helps!

Believe me, sin is a concept that we've created. God is Unconditonal Love. We're like the 'good son' and the 'prodigal son' in the Prodigal Son parable -- we all think we're sinners ('prodigal son') in need of forgiveness or we think we're in complete obedience ('good son') who will get a special reward from God. The 'good son' is the best teaching device: the Father tries to tell him what reality is but the 'good son' is annoyed that God doesn't behave the way he thinks he should behave. A sin is a mistake -- based on a mistaken perception of yourself and others. That's all it is -- just need to let it go and forgive yourself.

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 ~ Be careful with willfull sin because the LORD can give you over to a repropate mind ...google search that. But my advise to YOU, Brian is to draw nearer to God and realize what a miracle and a gift your life is. This will cause you to be aware of His reverential sovereignity, and His holiness and it will help you say no to your flesh that causes you to sin daily. You can do it. We all struggle, but I don't struggle as much when I strive to stay in AWE of Him, the LORD God Almighty. Bless you! He will most certainly forgive you.

When you know you have sinned, that is good, The Holy Spirit convicts our heart when we sin. Confess it. When you mess up, fess up.

Have you forgiven others who have done you wrong? If you are not walking in forgiveness, God cannot forgive you. Remember, When you realized you were a sinner & confessed Jesus your Lord & Saviour, Jesus washed you of all your sins. We need to forgive others as He has forgiven us.

Another verse. 1 John When we confess our sin, He is just to forgive us our sin & cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

He promises to make us right.

Just pray & ask God, in the name of Jesus Christ, if there is any unforgivness in your heart & give it to God. Walk in forgiviness. Sometimes old wounds need to be given to Him. Someone might curse you today. Just return it dipped in God's love. Jesus told us to bless those who curse us.

I sin everyday but I feel that God loves me so much that He doesn't care about it that much; you should feel the same.
