Yes! But instead between sovereign countries, the war is between Islam and the rest (Christians, Jews, Hindus, etc.)
Its a world war because the fundamentalist Muslims are everywhere, not only in the middle east (travel to Europa and see them in every big city). If it was contained to the middle east then they wouldn't have bombed Spain, France, England and USA. Muslims now lives everywhere and their first loyalty is not to the country they live in but to their brothers the Muslims.

This is the issue with trying to pick apart news casts. Take them at face value. Every war, action or otherwise that the military becomes involved in always turns out to be "what could be the beginning of World War III". Our main concern should not be on the Middle East, but rather North Korea. If we were to engage in a "cold war" with the North Koreans, our entire society would become a financial pit and un-governed to the point of self-destruction.

Someone asks this question everyday I swear...

As for the Middle East conflict, I think it has the potential to go global but I believe that would only happen if the US or another "superpower" got involved. If you look at what is happening across the entire Middle East: Iraq, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Israel, it affects everyone in the region and Western interests. So is what is happening today the start? I dont think so, but I believe its setting out the groundwork.

Hope... not!

We extinct ourselves fighting over dying land (earth have an expiration date! Like us!) We extinct our knowledge (god's golden apple) (science etc.) and ourselves in the worse way... at least dinosaurs does not have the advance knowledge as we do (so they have an excuse!).

If we were to rise as a single race... we would be armed with the power of God's knowledge... hence transcend immortality through the survival of mankind (we could even create a new earth!). But mankind have to exist and not wiped out part of the knowledge to do that! We go back to "Dark Age"... we lose precious time and knowledge!

Every countries belong to Earth (will die eventually)... or when the continents shift (Polar shift), we as a race may not even exist! Why are we stupid enough to be a bunch of separate sticks and pick each other out when we could stick together and be strong in Intelligence to ensure the existence of our race?

Ever heard that every life lost is could be the next great inventor to the future?

Really... are we God's chosen then? If we do not survive.

I think that WWIII will be somewhere in the far east- China or N. Korea- rather than the middle east. I can see the world facing off over the middle east, but i think that it is more likely to come from something to do with N. Korea.

It may be possible if Iran joins with Lebanon and U.S with Israel. But in that case the other world powers will not keep quiet. They will join to their respective allies.Like how the first world war started with Austria problem i't going to happen in Lebanon case.It will bea nuclear war,and no life will exist in earth after it.Everyone will use their Nuke and Chemical weapons, which will made earth a graveyard.
