Have a bank of america credit card in my name and in my husbands name, my son also had the same name (has his own credit card with them). They send us a credit card in the mail, I called them verified with them who it was by SS...they said my son, gave it to him. He has charged 493.00 ( He has about 2000 available on his CC) come to find out this is not his account but mine, and they refuse to put this on his account. Any suggestions??? My son is saying these are his charges, he wants them transferred to his account. I have always heard bad things about bank of america I really believe it now! They told me if i turned in these as not mine (they are not) they would proscecute my son...can u belive this?

On my card had a balance transfer of 1600 at 5 % interest...his charges are at 16 percent that is why i do not use the card. They will pay off all my low interest before they pay his off...otherwise he would just pay if off...this bank is bad. My son has offered just to pay off his charges...no it comes off the low interest rate first...

If it is unauthorized charges on the card -- who cares if it's family or not, they can be protested. Call 800-432-1000 and file a dispute agains the charges.

Yep, that sounds like BofA.

Call the bank and ask for copies of the receipts. Send a letter by certified mail, stating that the charges are not your husband's. They will do an investigation and remove the charges.

Your son will not be prosecuted. If they do not put the charges on the right account, that is their problem, not yours.

I had a BOA CC, I could not stand thier AWFUL customer service. Close up your account and have your son do the same. He can give you the money to pay off the balance.

I find it difficult to believe somebody would get prosecuted for owing 493.00 to a CC company. Have you ever heard of any case yourself?
It isn't a criminal offence.
I don't know the law in the USA but in the UK the worse they can do is take your goods. Don't let them bully you

Obtain copies of the charges. Check the account number on the sales tickets, and the signature.

If the account number is your card???????????????

Just have your son pay you. As long as he acknowledges they are his charges, it will save a lot of headaches.
