I don't beleive that myself........ I have 2 beuatiful cats and when they look at me, I know they are seeing right through me... I can't hide anything from them and They understand when I talk to them and say or tell them to do something, just like a dog does........ I beleive that all animals have souls and spirits........ When we were made, the breath of life was breathed into us........ and we were given a soul, so were the animals.

Be agnostic, religion is man made and no man can tell you what to believe. I am of buddhist persuasion in this matter though and believe that no living thing has a soul. The reasoning is (besides seemingly being a human creation for feeling special) that if life and desire are the root of suffering and there is an eternal soul then it implies there is no release from suffering ever which doesn't sound right. How ever I do think animals are just as deserving of life as us, but we are animals so that is kind of redundant.

First of all - Animals have souls.
Second - why would the soul of an animal determine your belief in God? That is bogus. You struggle with religion because someone told you animals don't have souls? That just makes no sense. I hope you come to realize a relationship with God is a lot more then just what happens to the souls of your pets.

It doesn't particularly say animals have no soul, or do have a soul. But, the soul is attributed to humans. Now, make no mistake, animals were part of Gods Creation. That makes them special. They are also innocent of sin. I personally believe that Heaven will contain all parts of Creation, including the animals. None of us know what Heaven will be like. I do know that it is imperative that I be prepared. Don't overlook the "big picture". Your eternity is special to any true Christian.

I am not sure where in the Bible it says this, but it must be true to the Bible because we had this same conversation in high school ( I went to a Catholic high school, mid 1990's) and all the Sisters and Priests there said the same thing: animals have no soul. We argued for hours about it, but they said no, they cannot go to Heaven. They said because animals are not aware or conscious of what they do.Adam and Eve were not aware until they ate the darn apple.Maybe ask a Priest or a Sister or a nun. Hopefully it helps.

I believe in Genesis, on one day god created the animals (except for Adam and Eve) and he gave them to mankind to rule over or something like that. As for animals not having souls, I've heard that, but I've can't recall reading about it in the bible.
I do find it interesting that in the OT, people were supposed to sacrifice animals (sheep I believe) to god every now and then. If the animals are god's creations why would he want them killed on his behalf?

I personally don't care if the bible says animals have souls or not. I know they do. I think what turns people off to this notion is that we are somehow "separate" from the animal world, when in fact we're a big part of it. I've had MANY pets in my childhood and adult years and when you look into the eyes of any animal, you can feel the soul. If, you're open-minded enough to look for it.

people have souls because they are made in God's image whether it be in his image or the image of his heart. it's right there in genesis. God made man and gave him dominion over all other creations. having souls is what sets us apart from all His other creations. His spirit dwells within us, therefore, our souls connect us to the Devine on a level that is beyond animal instinct or comprehension. I once asked myself the same question. I dug really far and i hope this is a good start for you.

God's kingdom is coming to this earth hence the part of the lords prair "thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven."
Isa.chap. 11verse 6 talks about the wolf shall ly down with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid;and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together;and a little child shall lead them.
God loves his animals and so do I. Yes they will be un heaven on earth! (dont worry.)

Don't even suppose we know the whole mind of God. Perhaps making it to Heaven, a reward is uniting with a loved pet. Who knows? There's more to the good after-life (should you make it that far up) then our measly minds can understand and know.
