Technically all agnostic means is that you believe that one cannot prove whether god exists or not. That's all. If you don't think god can be proven or disproven, you are agnostic.

What do the agnostic believe? That's what they would like to know.
There are two parts to that label. Gnostics were people who "know". The "a" prefix means no or not. So an A-gnostic, is someone who does not know.
Usually, they may know about this or that religion or belief system, but are unsure if it is true. The difference between an atheist (again, A-theist, No God), is that the agnostic isn't for sure either way. The atheist is sure, there isn't a god. The agnostic may be leaning that way, but is hedging his bets, he or she is not dogmatically certain.

Agnostic. They do not believe that the question of whether God is real or not matters.

I have a friend who is Agnostic (comes from greek: "a" means "not, and "gnosis" means knowledge)-he told me "I believe in God, but God is unknowable"
There's no personal relationship with God. God is just sitting out in heaven (Maybe-there's no way of knowing)

you might be thinking of "Agnostic" and they are people who are not sure whether they believe in God, or whether God exists. I'm not all too sure, but heres a link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agnostic
