sweetcorn is full of starch and although starch is generally insoluble in water, the cooking process (pressure cooking within the can) will leach this carbohydrate out. Dont panic.

Probably all the chemical stuff thats in it. It probably contains more salt than the shaker you have sat on your dining table. Buy fresh. its takes the same time to cook.
