"Our weaknesses allow us to live a longer, healthier life, as we must be consciously aware of our limitations."

For example, I have weak ankles. Therefore, I'm always careful when I jump down from a large step. This could be a reason why I've never broken any bones or had any major injuries.

Agree or disagree? And why? Thanks for your opinion. :)

generally speaking, once we know we have a flaw, we'll take some care not to let it become exploited. in your ankle analogy, you take extra care to prevent aggravation of a known weakness. if you had no ankle issues, you wouldn't take the same level of caution while stepping off a curb, for instance.
and what if you had a bad ankle but didn't know it? that is when an injury would be most likely to occur.

so, knowing your strengths and your weaknesses gives you the best chance to remain uninjured. a good general statement to prevent ANY unnecessary wear and tear, physical, mental, or emotional, might be 'know thyself'. (someone wise once said that, if i'm not mistaken!)

in short, i agree :)

Agree,
Are your ankles nice and thin, a women can be fat but if shes got
feminine ankles and nice feet that can be a real turn on. I think a gradual exceptance of your limitations can make you wise and strong but sometimes its just down right sad facing mortality and other things.

I don't buy it. The truth is that our ankles are exactly as weak as they are and so it is the fact that we KNOW that they are weak (thus what their limitations are) that leads to the longer life.

Our ankles could be made of titanium and be extremely strong, and that would not shorten our life.

Conversely, if we ignore the limitations of our ankles, their weakness would not help us to live.

It is awareness OF REALITY that is helpful in the final analysis. To the extent that we ignore reality or deems fantasy to be real, we will have difficulties.

Yes. We must allow for our limitations because humans are frail for the most part.
