How is it that a Dr can't help you but Yahoo Answers can? Don't take advice from these people. They're not educated enough to understand side effects and conflicts with their own advice. Nor do I, so go back and find a DR that does.

I'm doing weight watchers, A woman at my group couldn't exercise at all because of a bad car accident a year ago, and has a restricted diet because of heart disease. IT is working great for her. She just hit her goal weight and is on her 2nd week of maintence.

I am on week 13 and have lost 31 pounds.

You can do it at the location or online.

You don't have anything to lose but the weight.

Good luck!

any intelligent person can only deduce you dont trust your doctors expert opinion. that's why you are allowed to get a 2nd opinion...
apparently, according to a good source, the atkins diet has sound principles, but it needs to be implemented with care.
obviously, you need to drink lots of water, eat fresh non-citrus fruit, lots of proteins found in beans, chick peas, lentils, and other veggies which supplement meat (since it soundslike your'e advised to be vegetarian). Grapes contain lots of essential vitamins and raisins (basically dried grapes) are rich in iron, so following, grapes contain lots of iron too. Apples are amazingly healthy but i'm not sure if any of these products i've mentioned contain vit K. you might know. Prawns are virtually fat free and perhaps you'd like to try some seafoods which dont contain anything forbidden to you. Onions and garlic are good with helping the body fight diseases, do a yahoo engine search on it and you'll probably find out why. you might want to try soups with onions and other veggies in them. (moist and wholesome). lentil soup is easy, and wholesome and nice. try braising some onions (chopped), parsley chopped and mixed herbs (oregano is a wonderful antioxidant) and because onions have their own juice they only need a little water to brown them naturally, then, add enough water for the soup and then the lentils (1 part to 4 parts water). salt and pepper if you can. have this with wheat free bread (you can get them locally at stores) here in the uk.
oh, ginger is said to be able to purify the blood...you only need to research on the web somewhat because your particular needs sounds very limiting, but remember, there's so much variety available. you ought still to be able to have fun with your food, take care, whizz. (by the way, i used to hate onions and garlic as a kid, my dad helped me acquire a taste for it, my mum just didnt make it appealing, but since then, i dont cook without them, and i can tell u this, i dont get half the amount of flu's as i did as a kid...that says something to me...)

What about vegetarian chilli?
Or vegetable soup?

Chilli and soup and two of the things that fill you up quickly and stay with you longest so you aren't hungry. Oatmeal is another, but you probably classify that as a wheat.

That's a tough one! I don't know if you can cut down on your food intake, but definately cut out sweets and fats. That's probably all you can do. But you need to trust your docs more than any stranger off the street. Good luck to you.
