Me personally bread which is slightly stale goes in the bin!
My friend the other day was making some toast and i noticed it had spots of green mold on it.
I told him dont use it its gone off !!!
He then said " I KNOW its good for you" we ended up arguing over it.

So can anybody tell me is there any true fact he is right.
If he is right i'm still not going to eat it!!

They used to give it in the old days cos it was similar to giving penicillin, however it was risky because of allergic reactions to those sensitive to the spores and the chemical properties of the mold. Cut the mouldy bits off and chuck the rest for the birds.

just because penicillin was found on cheese, doesnt mean that you can eat any old yeast! Toasting it will kill it and it is unlikely to be harmful, but hey, why challenge your immune system more than is necessary? I would bin it and use fresh and leave your lymphocytes alone to work on the tough stuff!

I think people get mixed up with mould and bread and the discovery/invention of penecilin...which was developed from mould.

But I wouldn't eat it on bread. Fresh bread wins, every time.

What?! GOOD for you? It's built up bacteria. It is NOT good for you. It will definitely make you sick. How about you ask your friend to drink a gallon of spoiled milk, and ask him how he feels an hour later.
