I'm not refering to the fact that we feel guilt so we repent, but to the fact that sometimes we are put in situations where we do things only out of guilt. Like, I felt guilt awhile back for not doing something, so I did it...Does anyone get me?

Hi Kimbie,

the feeling of guilt itself is not a sin. However, God will often prompt our hearts through the Holy Spirit and He has also given us a conscience and His Word to help us discern between right and wrong.

In Timothy it talks about those who have had their conscience's seered. So i would say to feel guilt can sometimes be the conviction of the Holy Spirit. Be sensitive, ask the Lord.

God motivates us through His love. The Scriptures tell us that it is His kindness that leads us to repentance. And there is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus- so you must also guard your heart against being motivated by guilt.

We are always inadequate and we can easily always feel like i must pray more, i must witness more, etc. We trust that God's grace is sufficient for us (for our shortcomings, inadequacies, and struggles and habits).

i think God knows our hearts and knows that we so often fall short, thankfully this is where we find Him to be sufficient when we aren't.

I sincerely hope that helps...

Kindly by His Grace,

Nickster

The most important thing is why you do what you do.

Guilt is not the right motivation.

Sin does not have to be willful disobedience...as Paul says, "the things I want to do I can't do; the things I don't want to do I end up doing."

What you need to do is to ask God's forgiveness and ask Him to give you the right motivation. And, He will give you the desires of your heart.

Well it can BE GOOD, it helps you FIX THINGS.....trust me on this one... I think it is intelligent. (like other things that we have built in as emotions)
Yes sometimes people go too far, and think they need to do things that they don't need to...but you better believe that if before I "woke up" to really notice my wrong behavior, I stole a "diamond" from "hempe" you better believe that I am going to want to find hempe and PAY HIM BACK.
