No one can tell anyone else how to worship or acknowledge God.

No one stands any nearer to God than anyone else, no matter how much they preach or what they wear on Sunday

People should be able to perceive God or their higher power in whichever way they want to. If someone wanted to make everyone perceive God the same way, fights would break out. Thats why there were Crusades and holy wars in the Middle Ages. People perceive a higher power in so many different ways, and some don't even perceive one at all, so... Its best to let everyone choose what they want.

Hell yeah everybody in the world should be given the right to see god or a spiritual being as they want. Besides, even if you and your brother grew up in the same family with the same exposure/experience to religion, do you both perceive god the same way? of course not. Everyone has a right to believe or not believe in god and it will remain that way.

God should be percieved in any way you choose. Some perceive there isn't one

Of course we should respect people's choice in how they percieve God. We are naturally going to percieve Deity differently; it is up to each of us to give the rest peace and, if possible, encouragement for their choices.

You'll never get everyone in the world to perceive god in only one way, so the only way is to let people perceive god as they choose/are able.

Hi Prophetess,

everyone is given the choice of how they perceive God. However, at the end of the day-- not everyone can be right. i think because God has given everyone the freedom to reject or accept Him, people have that freedom.

Hope that helps,

Nickster

And how would that choice be removed? Through force of arms?

That is why there are so many wars wherein both parties are screaming "for the glory of god".

The choice on how to worship or whether to worship at all is why people left parts of Europe and move to the "new world" and the freedom of religion is part of the US constitution.

That isn't something that can be "given". You are, of course, influenced by what is around you, but ultimately your ideas are your own. You can't just reach into someone's ear with a key and unlock the pathway that allows them to believe in pantheism or something.

There are as many different beliefs as there are people, more or less.

While mankind's governing parties would like to think they have final say, we were given that choice by the Creator when we were instilled with the gifts of thought and free will. That's where a lot of religions got it wrong in their personal decrees that we should all be of one faith. Had that been the intent with all of the power and benevolence of the Creator, don't you think he would have/ could have made us that way?
