Yes he can. All he has to do is take the leave he has accrued and request it for the expected date. If he is deployed he can request R&R but if you want more time you will have to request emergancy leave for mother baby care. He should be able to get about 4 wks if he requests it provided he isn't deployed

It will completely depend on the situation when you get there. If his unit is deployed, baby on the way or not, they could ship him out right away. If they're not deployed, it'll depend on whether or not he has leave saved up or not. If he does, he can take up to 30 days. He'll have to apply for it as soon as he arrives and tell them the situation. They'll leave the leave dates open so that he can start the day the baby is born and go from there for however many days he wants to take.
Check the link below for Army in Alaska. You can also go to ACS and other agencies on post now and they'll help you get info for your pending move.

Possibly, but it counts against chargeable leave and cannot be for more than ten days total. This will have to be something he needs to request as soon as he gets there, as being the new guy he will be at the bottom of the list when it comes to granting leave. If his command is not due to be out and about, either training ro deployed, he will probably have a better shot at getting a few days off.
he is NOT guarenteed ANY time off whatsoever. If the command says they can't spare him, then he doesn't get any.

my husband was told that it is an order that a new father gets 10 days of daddy leave(obviously not if you are overseas) but if you are with him then he should get 10 days and it is not taken off of you annual leave. It is free leave that they will give you once the baby is born all you have to do is call the person in charge and tell them and they should take care of it for you

I assume you are talking about him being deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan. For the most part, commanders try to be accomodating when it comes to "baby leave". With your due date so soon after your arrival at your new station, it will be difficult for them to allow him leave at that time. They may allow him to stay back until the baby is born, then deploy. Or, they may make him deploy and not give him leave. It all depends on the unit commander.

It's all up to your Husband's Command. Ask early! He may have to work through chain of command.
It's been known to happen, so I hope you get to have him home!!!

Yeah, if he has it to spare. You get about 30 days total every year if you let them add up.
