Weren't you mailed an itemized statement for the paramedic service from the hospital or your insurance? Emergency Rescue Teams are a business like anything else and nothing is free. Doing some follow-up yourself will get you the answer. Anything else here is just a toss-up guess. The previous answer about Soma, Flexeril, or Valium is ridiculous to even consider: they are muscle-relaxants and are not used for respiratory emergencies. I've had 40 years of riding in ambulances and dialing 911 for extreme respiratory emergencies so I know none of those medications would be employed. Do some research.

Did they intubate you afterward? If so, they probably gave you a paralytic (succinylcholine or vecuronium), in addition to something to knock you out (versed or diazepam). They probably did this so they could intubate you and breathe for you. One of the side effects of succinylcholine is that it will cause your muscles to feel tight.
If there was no intubation involved, I can't think of anything else they might have given that might have caused those side effects. Is it possible that it wasn't the drug? Sometimes, if you can't breathe well, you might lose consciousness.
Paramedics are not allowed to give muscle relaxants like Soma or Flexeril in the ambulance, so if you had this medical emergency in the United States, I doubt that would be it.
Contact the ambulance company and get an itemized statement, or request a copy of the run report. It will state exactly what they gave you, and you won't have to guess.
Hope this helps!

probably a muscle relaxant...try doing a google search...my first guess: benztropine...after a google search, my next three guesses:
Carisoprodol (Soma), Cyclobenzaprine (Flexeril), valium??? You should read about these. They are quite interesting.
